9 Ways To Improve Your Running
Posted January 17th, 2008 by Visitor
When I first started running I had very bad form. My head and upper body would bend forward and my arms would gradually get higher and higher. I have learned that this constricted my breathing. But in order to break that habit I had to concentrate on it continually since I did it without thinking. With the help of others I was able to first be aware of things then to break these bad habits. Below are some other things people told me that I have remembered. If you can think of anything else please leave it in a comment below.
- Keeping your head up
- You can breathe better with your head up because your rib cage has more room to expand, when you are bent over there is less room to breathe
- Breath slow and controlled
- Keep your arms down
- Experienced runners concentrate on the running newbies try to think about other things, I used to think about music.
- Intake air when your rib cage is expanded
- Keep your muscles relaxed
- Look straight ahead
- Think about proper running form continually

Your Hands
Your hands should be in the area of your waist and hang loosely. Your fists should not be clenched but your hands should hang loose also. Just relax and concatenate on breathing slow and relaxed.
